Small group tuition delivering big results
Hello! I’m Rebecca White – a teacher with 25 years of experience in classroom teaching, senior leadership and private tuition.
When I started YES Tests and Tuition, my goal was to provide engaging, inclusive and well organised tuition for local families who wanted to give their children an extra boost or were thinking about exam preparation for 11+. Now I’m proud to work alongside a group of amazing teachers who help me to deliver this vision.
At YES Tests and Tuition, we teach a rigorous curriculum which not only supports your child’s learning in school but also readies them for 11+ and beyond.
She's changed my daughter's academic journey. She encouraged her to push herself for more which I wasn’t able to do myself. She is an amazing teacher who knows how to inspire children.
We specialise in small group tuition. With 6-7 children in each group, we can focus on the individual progression of each child. The children remain with the same teacher and group throughout the academic year, allowing a real sense of camaraderie to develop. Children love coming to our warm and inclusive sessions.
All of our tutors are fully qualified to teach with a university degree and teaching qualification. Each has extensive classroom experience and they are kind, compassionate and charismatic!
Our curriculum, designed by our Principal, has been developed to support those who decide to sit the 11+ exams, as well as supporting the KS2 National curriculum. Each weekly booklet is packed with teaching content, including specific test taking skills and strategies. From Year 3 we cover maths, comprehension, vocabulary and grammar, verbal and non verbal reasoning. Weekly homework is included.
When you join us, we consider an important part of our role is to support parents as well as children! You will benefit from our in-depth knowledge of local schools, catchment areas, 11+ and Private school selection tests. If we don’t think your child will thrive at a particular school we will explain why and discuss your options. We are honest and open and your child’s particular needs are at the heart of everything we do. We also provide a separate ‘schools advisory’ service for parents who are new to the UK school system and would like further advice and support.
The sessions are exceptionally well-organised and structured, and the staff are friendly, approachable, and highly competent.

If you decide to move forward, your child will be assessed in maths and English in the first week of tuition. We then have a better idea of your child’s strengths and weaknesses; you receive a comprehensive report with standardised scores so that you are able to better understand where your child sits in comparison to their peers.

Your child joins a weekly tuition group. They receive homework which is returned in the next session.

You will receive weekly feedback via their homework. We also hold parent meetings twice a year for more in depth discussion.
The sessions are clear, well organised and genuinely enjoyable, and the benefits have carried over into his general schoolwork as well as exam prep. Feedback is always helpful and easy to understand, communication is excellent.
Thank you for everything you have done – V has received academic scholarships for Colfe’s and Eltham College!
Thank you for your amazing support over the last year – we have just received the email that J has been offered a place at Blackheath High. We really appreciate your dedication.
Delighted to tell you that N passed both Kent and Shepway tests! Huge thanks to you and the team for your support and encouragement.
Just a message to say that S received offers for both schools – we are so proud of him! Thank you for your care and encouragement.
Great news! M received a place! He is delighted and we are too!
Our tuition programmes are tailored for children in Key Stage 2 (Years 3–6), providing a structured and supportive environment in which each pupil can thrive.
We offer expert preparation for selective assessments, including the 11+, independent school entrance exams, and SATs, alongside carefully guided support to strengthen core curriculum knowledge.
Our overarching aim, however, extends beyond academic success. We are committed to nurturing confident, resilient learners who feel assured in their abilities and fully prepared for a seamless transition to their chosen secondary school.
Our curriculum is carefully designed to deliver a broad and rigorous foundation across all core areas. Weekly lessons include English -covering spelling, comprehension, and grammar – alongside Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
For pupils in Year 6, the programme is further enriched with dedicated Creative Writing sessions, supporting the development of style, structure, and confident self-expression.
Each session follows a tightly planned timetable, allowing us to deliver focused learning in a structured and purposeful way.
Each weekly session is 1.5 hours. We also set weekly homework to consolidate the work done in the lesson. This can take from 30 – 70 minutes each week depending on the year group.
Our weekly lessons (including homework) are £37. Invoices are sent monthly.
We encourage regular attendance as much as possible, but if your child is unable to attend a session, the missed work is be given to be completed at home.
We do not offer taster sessions. We found that a “revolving door” of free taster sessions was distracting for our students and impacted the flow of lessons. Instead we offer a ‘one lesson decider’, so, if your child attends one lesson and you decide not to continue there is no notice period.
Please register your interest as early as possible. Our groups fill up quickly and once they are full, we operate a waiting list.
My children have benefited enormously from structured weekly lessons that introduce core techniques and competencies, complement their school curriculum and boost confidence. Rebecca’s direction and feedback is always constructive and delivered in a way that subtly inspires them to expand horizons and go further in their learning.
